Student Resiliency and Mental Health – Amber Thompson

Amber holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling. She began her career in education in 2001 as an outreach counselor for UCLA Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP). In this time, she developed a passion for addressing the inequities in the delivery of counseling services to Secondary School students. In 2006, she joined the faculty of Centennial High School as a School Counselor, where she continues to provide services to students on her campus and throughout the district. Her passionate approach to counseling is driven by the need for equity, diversity, and grace in working with Secondary School students. Amber is also an adjunct professor at Norco Community College, where she teaches courses on student resiliency and college and career choices.
